POTSDAM - SUNY Potsdam has pledged $25,000 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation’s “Constructing Healthier Communities” campaign.

The campaign was launched in support of the hospital’s recent construction and renovation projects at the E.J. Noble Building in Canton, the former St. Mary’s School building at 49 Lawrence Ave. in Potsdam and the Center for Cancer Care on the hospital’s main campus.

“We recognize that having access to quality health care in our community is crucial for SUNY Potsdam faculty, staff and students,” according to SUNY Potsdam President John F. Schwaller. “The hospital’s recent projects to improve access to primary care, specialty care and cancer care deserve widespread support, and we are pleased to be a part of the campaign.”

Commenting on the importance of donations such as SUNY Potsdam’s, David Acker, CEO of Canton-Potsdam Hospital, said, “The collaborative spirit and profound generosity of our community partners cannot be overstated. Hospitals are challenged more than ever when it comes to funding necessary improvements in response to community need. The financial commitment of our friends at SUNY Potsdam illustrates the collective resolve of a community determined to address its future together.”
