CANTON — Melissa Leonhard scored four goals to lead the St. John Fisher women’s lacrosse team to a 15-8 win over St. Lawrence University in a nonconference game Tuesday.

Bridget Alberts and Emily Bryerton each scored three goals for the Cardinals (12-4 overall). Watertown native Taylor Hughes and Jill Zerillo both tallied two goals and Shannon McDermott added another goal for St. John Fisher. Hughes added a career high five assists.

Brigid Hurley, Margie Bailey and Kendall Harty scored twice to lead the Saints (9-7). Stephanie O’Rourke and Alanna Piroli added single goals.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

SUNY Plattsbnurgh 7, SUNY Canton 2: Casey Brighton went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead SUNY Plattsburgh to a 7-2 win over SUNY Canton (9-26) in a nonconference game in Plattsburgh.

Jon Handy and Damian Tyler also had two hits for the Cardinals (20-15). Chris Jones, Gerardo Torres, Tom Darling and Dylan Cassleman produced two hits apiece for the Kangaroos.
