Kaycee Maguire Earns All-NAC
Lax Status at Keuka College
KEUKA PARK - Former Potsdam Central standout Kaycee Maguire was among five members of the Keuka College womens lacrosse team to earn All-North Atlantic Conference West Division honors for their efforts this past season.
A freshman midfielder, Maguire has quickly became a major contributor to the Storm and was named to the All-NAC West Second Team. She started all 12 games and scored 19 goals with three assists. Maguire leads the team in ground balls (37) while her 12 caused turnovers rank fourth on the squad. Maguire had seven games with two or more goals, including four goals during a 17-3 home win over Wilson College on April 2 and three goals during an 18-2 win over St. Elizabeth on April 6.
The 36 members of the All-NAC teams are decided by the conference coaches.
The Storm earned the No. 2 seed in the NAC West Division and will face No. 3 Cazenovia College (9-7, 7-2 NEAC) in a NAC West semifinal contest Saturday afternoon at Morrisville State. Keuka handed Cazenovia an 11-7 setback Friday night at Keuka.
The winner of Keuka/Cazenovia faces the winner of No. 1 seed Morrisville State (11-4, 9-0 NEAC) and No. 4 Medaille (8-7, 7-3 NEAC) in Sundays championship game, at 1 p.m. at Morrisville State.

Lax Offensive Player of the Year
GANSEVOORT – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2012 NAC West Division All-Conference selections, with first, second and third team honors being awarded by position to a total of 36 student-athletes, as selected by the conference coaches.
The NEAC has also announced its individual womens lacrosse award winners and Cazenovia College senior midfielder Christy Foster of Canton was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year
after putting together a record-breaking season for the Wildcats. Through 16 games, Foster
registered 74 points, 69 goals, 56 groundballs, 67 draw controls and 31 caused turnovers, which
placed her first on the team and in the top five in the conference for each of those categories. Her
point total also helped her become Cazenovias all-time career points leader, a milestone she
achieved a week ago that helped her garner a NAC West Offensive Student-Athlete of Week honor.
Krista Oakes Earns Regional
Athlete of the Week Honor
HERKIMER - Herkimer County Community College softball pitcher Krista Oakes, a former Salmon River Central standout, has been named Region III Female Athlete of the Week.
Oakes had a phenomenal week for the Generals, said Coach PJ Anadio.
She threw a no-hitter against North Country Community College, striking out nine batters, then came back two days later to throw a perfect game against Jamestown Community College, striking out 14 of the 15 batters she faced.
Oakes, who is majoriing in Liberal Arts & Sceinces: Physical Education, is now 10-2 on the season with 127 strikeouts in only 66 innings pitched. So far this season, she has thrown three perfect games and two more no-hitters.
