Brasher Falls

Hoops Camp



BRASHER FALLS - Brasher Falls Youth Basketball will be holding its 3rd Annual Basketball Camp on August 6-9.

This camp is open to boys and girls entering grades 4-12 next school year and will provide players to enhance their skills individually and through team play. The camp consists of stations to provide fundamental work, team drills, 1 vs. 1 play, 3 vs. 3 play and 5 vs. 5 play. There is also contests and trivia to challenge the players mentally. The camp also features guest speakers at the end of the day to provide the players with experience and knowledge. Daily sessions will run from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The cost is $40 per player or $60 for families registering two or more players. Make check payable to Brasher Falls Youth Basketball.

This year we are pleased to have Scott Sergeant, former Heuvelton Boys Varsity Coach and currently works with Ogdensburg Youth program, and Sandy Cook, morning host of WMSA radio show, former coach of Section X overall champion Massena Raiders.

This camp will help provide the players with a basic skill set and knowledge in the game. The camp provides a T-Shirt for the player and a chance to win prizes.

MIR Geared

For Opener



AKWESASNE - Just one more week remains before the start of the 2012 racing season at Mohawk International Raceway, with the season opener set for Friday, May 11.

The first on track action of 2012 at MIR will be an open practice session for all divisions this afternoon. All drivers are invited to come out and put their hard work during the winter to test, and shake their car down before the new season gets underway. Practice is set to start at noon and will run through 4 p.m. Grandstand Admission for the practice session is free.

The following Friday, May 11, will be opening night at MIR, as Akwesasne Mohawk Casino presents a 40 lap 358 Modified main event paying $2,000 to win, along with a full show of Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites and Bandits. General Admission on opening night is just $15, and the first race of the evening will begin at 7:45pm.

Mohawk International Raceway is located midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall, ONT and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino.
