Lisbon Soccer Camp Planned For August

LISBON - The first annual High School Preseason Skills and Conditioning Soccer Camp at Lisbon Central School has been scheduled for Aug. 13-17 at three soccer fields on the Lisbon Central complex. The camp is open to both boys and girls from any school district and will hold a morning session from 8-11 a.m. for students in grades seven through 12 and an evening session from 6-7:30 p.m. for students in grades three through six.

The session for students in grades 7-12 is a high school preseason skills and conditioning camp and will include goaltenders camp. The fee is $100 per camper. The session for students in grades 3-6 will concentrate on basic skills and fundaments and the fee is $50. Both camps are sponsored by Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola Bottlers, Mort Backus and Sons, and Howland Pump and will be limited to first 100 paid registrants and the deadline for registration is Aug. 3.

Lisbon Central Boys Soccer Coach Bill Reed will direct the camp and instruction for the Grades 7-12 will be provided by Dickie Marcellus of the Lisbon Central Boys Soccer staff, Lisbon Girls Soccer Coach Scott Richardson, OFA Girls Soccer Coach Kelly Geary, Colton-Pierrepont Boys Soccer Coach Jim Nee, Potsdam Central Boys Soccer Coach and former SUNY Canton Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach Al Benda, Madrid-Waddington Boys Soccer Coach Gary Tischler, Canton Boys Soccer Coach Matt Caufield, Canton Girls Soccer Coach Greg Kiah and former Canton Boys Soccer Coach Roger Dusharm who is a member of the New York State Soccer Hall of Fame.

The camp for seventh through 12 graders will also offer a camp for goalies where instruction will be provided by SLU Assistant Coach Luke Seymour who is a Canton native who played at the NCAA Division I level for Canisius College.

Instruction for the evening session for third through sixth graders will be provided by members of the Lisbon Central Boys and Girls Soccer coaching staffs.

This is to certify that my son/daughter has permission to participate in any and all camp activities. I assume all risks and hazards incidental to such participation and I do hereby agree to hold harmless the staff of the Lisbon Central Soccer Camp from any and all claims arising out of any injury to my child. Furthermore, this verifies that the camper is up to date with his/her immunizations and is able to participate in all camp activites. In the event of an injury my permission is granted for treatment as required at the nearest medical treatment facility.
