Making a quick rebound from a one-goal loss to Canton, on Friday, the OFA Girls Lacrosse team began building momentum for the home stretch of the season by downing Salmon River 18-8 on Saturday morning.
Nicole Hammond tallied a career-high five goals, Kaitlin Sheppard netted four goals with one assist and Molly Morrow delivered two goals and four assists for the Lady Devils who evened their Northern Conference record at 4-4.
We were able to move people around today and our ball movement was good. Nicole Hammond had a big scoring day and Molly Morrow continued her fine playmaking, said OFA Coach Lauren Morley who will have her team at home on Monday for a nonleague game against Northwood Prep and again Wednesday for a contest with NAC unbeaten Massena.
Brooke Badlam had a nice game in the offense, she had a chance to get a third goal but passed the ball to Carly Garrison who had a good chance in front.
Nikki Holmes supplied two goals and two assists to the winning offense which also featured single goals by Natalie Perrigo, Zendell Cordwell and Hunter Shaver and an assist by Courtney Sherwin.
Tsi Herne and Kiera Thompson each scored twice for Salmon River and Victoria Thompson (1 assist), Kyra Thompson and Tewasherake Barnes all added single goals. Erica Chase stopped two shots in in goal for OFA and Ieonatoshea Thompson handled three shots for the Shamrocks (0-6).
Salmon River won a 10-8 decision over Saranac Lake. Lakota Square generated five goals while Seth Oakes delivered a goal and four assists. Jeff Stevens supplied four goals for the Red Storm.
Randy Peters (three saves) andKobi Johnson (seven saves) shared the win in net.
