WINTHROP The mother of murdered 21-year-old Jason Wing said she has been receiving death threats.
I will not live in fear, Roxanne Stratton said. I will not live like this.
Ms. Strattons son was shot and buried in late August 2010 on a Grantville Road property in Raymondville. His body was recovered and identified Feb. 2.
Since then, Ms. Stratton said, a man has called her five times and once threatened to kill her and her family.
He said he was going to shoot up my house, Ms. Stratton said. He said he knew where I lived and told me my address.
Ms. Stratton said she contacted state police and was told the number was coming from a prepaid phone, and an investigation is ongoing.
Dustin J. Trimm, 37, of 325 County Route 49, was charged with second-degree murder Feb. 1 following an investigation that included many undercover wire recordings.
According to court documents, Trimm admitted to murdering and burying Mr. Wing in the recordings.
Ms. Stratton put together an online petition to keep Trimm in jail, but Judge Jerome J. Richards released him on $250,000 bail without restrictions.
Trimms attorney, Richard V. Manning, of Parishville, said Trimm does not have to stay in the county or the area as long as he appears in court when required.
Ms. Stratton said she expects to continue her movement against Trimm by picketing outside his trucking business.
He admitted to doing this on those recordings, she said. Why is he out on bail?
