BROWNVILLE A man and woman were charged with second-degree criminal contempt Friday afternoon after Jefferson County sheriffs deputies investigated a domestic fight at 300 Rice St.
Rae C. Bremner, 42, Apartment 2A, and William A. LaRock, 42, Apartment B3, were taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, by Brownville Town Justice Richard M. Parker, with bail set for each at $250. Ms. Bremner remained jailed Monday, but Mr. LaRock posted bail and was released.
Police documents allege that Mr. LaRock initiated cellphone calls and text messaging to Ms. Bremner for the purpose of causing her to reciprocate. She did, deputies allege. In so doing, both defied stay-away orders in a Family Court order of protection, the sheriffs office charged.
