WEST LEYDEN A West Leyden man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash at 8:37 p.m. Sunday on Osceola Road in the town of Lewis.
Lewis County sheriffs deputies said Robert Bowers, 55, Osceola Road, failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, went nearly 400 feet off the pavement and hit a tree. He was found by a passing motorist, who reported the accident.
Mr. Bowers was treated at the scene by West Leyden ambulance squad members, taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, then flown to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, where he was listed in critical condition.
An investigation into the accident is continuing, deputies said.
