Watertown police have filed a traffic offense in their investigation of a womans death on Mill Street late in April, but they may not be finished.
John C. Preston, 24, Dayton, Tenn., was charged Friday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and was released on $250 bail pending arraignment in City Court.
He was the driver of a vehicle from which Angela C. Perdue, 24, of 349 Winslow St., fell, jumped or was pushed about 7:15 p.m. April 29 in the 900 block of Mill Street. Ms. Perdue was then struck and dragged a short distance by the vehicle, according to a city police accident report.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, with cause of death later ruled as blunt force trauma to the head.
Lt. Frank J. Derrigo declined comment Monday when asked whether more charges are pending, saying only that the investigation is continuing.
