MASSENA - The Massena Recreation Commissions 13th annual Ted Kot Youth Fishing Derby will be held May 19 at the Hawkins Point Visitors Center, Robert Moses State Park, Massena. The event will be held rain or shine.
Check in/registration will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Participants must be registered to qualify for an award. Eligible ages are 4 to 15 years old.
Fishing will begin at 10 a.m. and stop at 1 p.m. Participants must bring a fishing rod and bait; worms are the only bait allowed. Fishing is from the shoreline only.
Awards will be presented at 1:15 p.m. Awards will be given to the first, second and third heaviest, live in-season fish for ages 4-9 and 10-15. Participants will be entered into a drawing for door prizes throughout the day
Pre-register to be guaranteed a goody bag. A free hot dog and soda will be provided to all youth participants.
