RAYMONDVILLE - The Norwood-Norfolk Central golf team continued its undefeated trek through the 2012 NAC Division II season with a sweep over Salmon River (4-1) and Edwards-Knox (5-0) at the Raymondville Country Club.
Playing in the second spot, Matt Myers carded the medalist round of the day for the Flyers with a 40 that included a birdie on the eighth hole and took a point from his two opponents - Noah Bero (SR, 45) and Kyle Gotham (E-K, 62). In the third matchup, Cole Davey (48) beat Jared John (SR, 51) and Zach Allen (E-K, 62). The four group saw Ryan Thomas (48) sweep Matt Healy (SR, 54) and Rich Finnerty (E-K, 73) while the fifth trio had Schuyler LaBarge (43, bridie on 5) beating Austin Comins (SR, 54) and Ross Curley (E-K, 70).
T.J. Roundpoint earned the lone point against the host Flyers for the Shamrocks, who swept E-K 5-0 in the team match, with a 42 in the first group where N-Ns Nick Stewart shot a 43 and Hunter Tuttle of E-K posted a 51.
Shooting exhibition rounds during the meet were Brandon Palmer (N-N, 52), Jacob Levison (N-N, 52), Jacob Bero (SR, 55) and Derek Cutway (E-K, 59).
The Flyers, who improved to 7-0 atop the Division II standings with the sweep, will face a tough test today when they travel to Star Lake to for a tri-meet with Madrid-Waddington and host Clifton-Fine.
