Annual spring drop-off for bulk trash is Saturday

The city of Watertown will hold its annual spring drop-off program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Residents from Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties may dispose of such bulk items as furniture, appliances, old windows, cabinets, fencing and small quantities of construction and demolition materials. The city also will accept motor vehicle batteries and tire casings. Household hazardous waste, liquid waste, refuse and yard waste are prohibited.

The following fees will be charged for vehicles: automobiles and SUVs, $10; minivans and compact pickup trucks, $20; pickup trucks (without rack), $25; pickup trucks (with side racks), $45; utility trailers, $25 to $45. Tires and batteries (car, truck, boat) will be collected for $5 each.
