A Watertown mans alleged attempt to use a computer-generated phony state vehicle inspection sticker was discovered late Tuesday afternoon by a city patrol officer.
During a traffic stop in the 300 block of Arsenal Street, the officer reported finding afixed to the windshield of an auto operated by Vincent A. Vanness Jr., 50, of 19504 N. Community Drive, a printout of a photograph of a valid inspection sticker.
Mr. Vanness was detained overnight in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building to await City Court arraignment Wednesday on charges of second-degree forgery, having an immitation inspection sticker, and operating an unregistered, uninsured and uninspected auto.
