Jeffrey P. Shannon, 36, of 29641 County Route 50, Black River, was charged Wednesday by city police with second-degree criminal contempt and awaits prosecution in City Court.

Police said he is accused of violating a Family Court order of protection at about 5 p.m. Tuesday by sending an e-mail to Michelle R. Ferringo, 31, Watertown.
