Lumberjacks take down Yellow Jackets

TUPPER LAKE — Tim Larkin did not give up a hit in the first five innings and finished with a four-hitter to lead the Tupper Lake baseball team to an 8-4 win over Madrid-Waddington (4-1 overall and division) in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division game Wednesday.

Adam St. Pierre drove in two runs with a triple for the Lumberjacks (5-3, 4-2). Brandon Duchaime had two hits and drove in three runs.

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 10-16, ST. REGIS FALLS 1-1

Devon Tebo doubled twice and drove in four runs in the first game and was the winning pitcher in the second game, driving in four more runs, as the Panthers swept St. Regis Falls (0-5) in an East Division doubleheader in Parishville.

Zach Newton had four hits for the Panthers (4-1, 4-0) in game two. Tebo and Tyler Gallagher each had three hits in the second game and Franklin Pullano supplied two hits.

HARRISVILLE 3-18, HERMON-DEKALB 2-1

Justin Hartle struck out 13 in the opener and hit a 3-run home run in game two as the Pirates swept a West Division doubleheader against Hermon-DeKalb (0-5) in Harrisville.

Nick Weir went 3-for-3 for the Pirates (4-4, 3-2) in the opener. Harrisville scored 17 runs in the third inning of the second game.

CLIFTON-fINE 17, LISBON 6

Matt Russell struck out 11 to lead the Eagles past Lisbon (2-5, 1-3) in a West Division game at Star Lake.

Nate Aldrich and Emmett Shaul each had four hits for Clifton-Fine (2-5, 1-4) and Adam Kelly produced two hits for Lisbon.

MASSENA 10, ST. LAWRENCE 0

David Phillips only allowed St. Lawrence Central (1-7) one hit to lead the Red Raiders to a nonleague win in Massena.

Phillips struck out six for Massena (9-1). Josh Miller and Zack Rusaw each produced two hits for Massena and Cullen Baines hit a three-run triple in the second inning.

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 12, GOUVERNEUR 6

Jordan Lashomb was 4-for-4 for Norwood-Norfolk (4-3) in a nonleague win over the Wildcats in Gouverneur.

Cody Smith doubled twice and drove in two runs and Brandon Short and Gunnar Brown each had two hits for the Flyers. Matt Waugh and Matt Ashley had two hits for the Wildcats (1-5).

MALONE 13, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 7

The Huskies batted around and scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning to defeat Brushton-Moira (2-3) in a nonleague game in Malone.

Derek Juntunen and Brandon Welch each had two hits in the first inning for Malone.

Juntunen and Welch finished with three hits in the five-inning game for Malone (8-0).

GENERAL BROWN 10, SANDY CREEK 0

Jordan Delaney, Peter Will and Eric Wollum combined on a no-hitter as the Lions blanked the Comets in a crossover game at Sandy Creek.

Delaney also went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in for General Brown (4-7, 4-6), while David Shumaker added three hits for the Lions.

Sandy Creek dropped to 6-6.

SOUTH LEWIS 7, APW 6

Garrett Kubinski drove in the game-tying and game-winning runs with a sixth-inning single as the Falcons rallied past the Rebels in a crossover game at Turin.

Josh Stoffle homered and pitched two innings in relief to get the win for South Lewis (13-1), which scored four runs in the sixth after trailing 6-3 .

Jason Martin went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three stolen bases for the Falcons.

Skylar Wheeler doubled twice and knocked in four runs for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (3-8, 3-7).

BEAVER RIVER 6, SOUTH JEFFERSON 2

Justin Bush finished 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs as the Beavers downed the Spartans in a crossover game at Adams.

Evan Lyndaker socked a two-run double for Beaver River (7-4).

Joe DeFranco doubled twice for South Jefferson (5-6, 4-4).

Indian River 5, IHC 1

Edward Malinowski and Kody Smith each had two hits as the Warriors downed the Cavaliers in an “A” Division game at Philadelphia that served as IHC’s home game.

Winning pitcher Dustin Draper and Nick Torres contributed RBI doubles for Indian River (3-5, 2-5).

Santino Alteri tripled and scored the lone run for Immaculate Heart Central (5-4, 4-4).

ALEXANDRIA 5, LAFARGEVILLE 1

Brandon Pierce struck out 10 and gave up just three hits in a complete game as the Purple Ghosts earned a “D” Division win over the host Red Knights at LaFargeville.

Gannon Beach and Zach Walti supplied two hits apiece for Alexandria (3-8).

LaFargeville dropped to 1-11, 1-10.

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 4-2, LYME 3-8

Keith Goutremout doubled and drove in three runs to help the Indians salvage a split of a “D” Division doubleheader with the Panthers at Belleville.

Gunnar Blank gave up four hits to go with three strikeouts in the second game for Lyme (2-8).

Tom Leen provided a two-run double in the first game for Belleville Henderson (3-7).
