Two inmates of the Jefferson County jail have been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and promoting prison contraband.

Anthony D. Joseph, 34, of 1021 Boyd St., and Jordan T. Turner, 25, of 73 Public Square, were charged at 7:30 a.m. Thursday after corrections officers saw them acting suspiciously in a maintenance closet and they were later found with three marijuana cigarettes in their cell, deputies said. The pot was concealed in a roll of toilet paper, they said.

The two inmates were given appearance tickets for Watertown City Court.
