MASSENA - The 2012 Massena Womens Softball League season got underway past Monday.
A DIVISION GAMES
Dars-Curran Renewable 10, Ale House-Kings Insurance 5: Jenny Lashomb (double) and Kristi Burgoyne both went 4-4 to anchor a balanced offense in the win. Julie Jenkinson was 3-4 with a triple. Kristen Paller, Krista Cecot and Taya Collins all went 3-4 as well.
American Legion 8, Hill Top 6: Diane Miller pitched the win and aided the offensive effort with a pair of hits. Kim Hill was 3-3 while Jessica Nolan, Sue Bosle, J.J. Jones and Jill Currier delivered two hits apiece. Jen Sienkiewycz, Susan Macaulay, Tricia Childs, Kristin McKeel and Marybeth Premo each had solo hits.
Massena Savings and Loan 12, Verville Bud 1: Mary Salonick tossed the win.
Laneuvilles 11, Duct Man on Demand 0: No further details.
B DIVISION GAMES
Coachs Corner 3, Squadron 3: Wendy Serguson, Christine Premo-Abrantes and Ashley Cuccia all went 2 for 4 for Coachs Corner while Shelley Chilton and Shelly Matthes went 3 for 4.
Brainards 5, Open Net 2: Steenberg, D. Stowell and Ladison all went 2-3 in the winning effort. T. Boice, Green, Foster, Widmer, O. Boice and K. Stowell each connected for solo hits.
Nadeaus 5, Guys Restaurant 0: Paula Currier had a strong outing at pitcher and Rae Collins made key defensive contributions in left field to anchor the win. Chrissy Creazzo went 2-3 with a triple to spark the winning offense. Rose Marshall drove in three runs and Janelle Mossow the other two.
