STAR LAKE Clifton-Fine High School, the Newton Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Cranberry Lake Rescue Squad, state police and St. Lawrence County Stop-DWI Program will sponsor a mock DWI crash at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the schools side parking lot.
The rain date is set for 10 a.m. Friday.
The mock crash is meant to dramatize the consequences of drinking and driving and promote a safe and sober message for students, particularly during the prom and graduation season.
In the county during 2011, about 10 percent of all alcohol-related driving arrests were of young adults between the ages of 16 and 20. Nationally, the leading cause of death for youths ages 15 to 20 is motor vehicle accidents.
