The 17th Annual Ogdensburg Bike-A-Thon for the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 9-11 a.m. at Edgar Newell Memorial Golden Dome on the campus of Ogdensburg Free Academy.
Coordinators for the event are: Kasey and Jeff Smith, Rose and Bruce Tallon and Public Relations Director Dave Shea.
Children wishing to participate in the event can pick up pledge forms at Madill, Kennedy, Lincoln and Sherman Schools, at the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club and at the St. Marguerite DYouville Academy.
All funds raised will aid the St. Judes Hospital in its ongoing fight against childhood cancers and other catrastrophic diseases which attack children. At the present time 31 children from New York State are being treated at St. Judes which was founded in Memphis Tenn. by entertainer Danny Thomas.
The event has rasied over $34,000 over the past 16 years. The highest individual fund-raiser was Kris Folsom in 2002.
This years bike-a-thon will offer a bicycle donated by Pepsi Cole for the top fund-raiser and a $25 gift certificate from SUNY Canton for the second leading fund-raiser.
