CANTON — The state Department of Transportation will hold a meeting Tuesday to discuss new work on a portion of Route 11 that goes through the village.

The $9.6 million project, scheduled to begin in June, will extend from Riverside Drive to Stiles Avenue and address drainage deficiencies. The work also will provide enhancements to the street in the downtown business district.

“This is an important project for the merchants and residents of Canton, and we look forward to continuing to meet with them as we prepare for construction to begin this summer,” said Mark E. Frechette, DOT’s acting regional director. The meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the village municipal building.
