Watertown police on Friday night charged Kirsis D. Dunlop, 22, Perth Amboy, N.J., with endangering the welfare of a child.

Ms. Dunlop was accused of slamming the rear door of a 2010 Subaru Impreza at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building while her 3-year-old son sat unsecured in a car seat, putting him at risk of injury.

She is to answer the charge in City Court.
