A regional presentation by Dr. Jarra Jagne, veterinarian for Cornell Poultry Diagnostic Laboratory, will be hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County May 22 at 7 p.m. A live videoconference will be hosted for farmers at CCE offices in Lewis, St. Lawrence, Clinton and Oneida counties. The cost to register is $5.
Dr. Jagne, who has 19 years of experience in the poultry disease field, will talk about common diseases in chickens and ways to maintain flock health. She also will address how to properly transport flocks to a mobile slaughterhouse acquired last year by North Country Pastured of DeKalb, which has been approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
