Kiwanis Sr. Grasshopper, Jr. Softball Open Season With No-Hitter


Justyn McCormick (7’ks) and Ethan Baldwin (9K’s) combined on a 16 strikeout no hitter for Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola in a 12-0 season-opening win over Lisbon in Kiwanis Senior Grasshopper Baseball action.

Offensively, everyone on the team played aggressively.

Carson Massia and Lane Bouchey worked hard for Lisbon.

The no-hitter was one of several strong pitching outings in Kiwanis Baseball and Softball.

Moose 5, Howland Pump 1: Jared Barr and Garrett Piercey combined for 13 strikeouts for Moose which received a homerun from Barr, two singles from Brody Woods and Garrett Piercey and a single from Kyle Flynn. Jacob Sharp and Hayden Ives fanned eight batters for Howland Pump. Jackson Troiano lined two singles while Jacob Sharpe, Tristan Fitzgerald, Zach Thomas, Alex Barrett and Ives all singled.


Carlisle, Carrothers & Clough PC 10, Lady Moose 6: Clair Donaldson (3 strikeouts, one walk) and Sierra Ashley (5 strikeouts) each pitched three innings in the win. Donaldson also stroked two hits while Shea Kench added a single. Marissa Bigelow played strong secondbase defense while Hanna Beebie was rock solid behind the plate. Rylie Bresett singled twice for the Ladies of the Moose.

Heuvelton NPS over Coats Consulting: Alexia Steele crushed a grand slam homerun and pitched the win with Alyssa Johnson and Shelby Ross. Katie Premo, Eliza Martin, Caitlyn Norman all singled twice for Heuvelton while Emily Basford and Kaitlyn Kilborne each singled once.

Caitlyn Reynolds and Hope Walker pitched for Coats Consulting. Andee Farrand ripped two singles while Ema Stemples, Alisha McKee, Brielle McKee, and Mikayla Fields all singled.


DeFelsko 5 - Source Capital 0: MeSean Johnson and Conner Griffith for the win and their third straight shut-out in a 15-strikeout no-hitter. Owen Warchol, Jordan Fennesey, Griffith, Johnson, Kelson Hooper, Chayton Massic, Trent Sargent, Todd Carroll, Brogan LaRose, Chase Banning all recored hits.

In the shutout wins last week over PBA and Busters Griffith and Johnson pitched well with Fennesey and Warchol leading the offense and Hooper and Tanner Valcour playing solid defense.

Cole Hazen and Jack LaRock fanned 12 on the Source Captial mound on Tuesday and Hazen and catcher Nathan Spooner played strong defensive games.
