FAILURE TO YIELD - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Christopher M. Miller, 28, of Ogdensburg for failure to yield the right of way on a left turn following a property damage accident at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday on Leroy Street.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Robert J. Thomas, 22, of Greenville for speed in zone (45/30) following a traffic stop at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday on the Cheel Access Road.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Richard C Phippen, 62, of Winthrop for speed in zone (53/30) following a traffic stop at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday on Lawrence Avenue.

0144 Suspicious person on Market Street. Patrols responded and located the subject who was looking for a valid place to park his vehicle for the night.

0851 Patrol completed a traffic stop on Lawrence Avenue. The operator was given a verbal warning.

0919 Potsdam Rescue was dispatched to SUNY Potsdam for a male subject possible overdose. SUNY Police are on scene

0947 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

1055 Potsdam High School requests assistance in locating a student that has left the school grounds, on foot, without permission. Subject located on Elm Street and transported back to Potsdam High School without incident.

1324 Complainant reports that while he was shopping a person placed a dog in his vehicle in the Price Chopper parking lot and took off in another vehicle.

1428 State police request patrols be observant for a construction vehicle carrying some type of stone or gravel headed into the village on state Route 56 that is dropping its cargo all over the roadway.

1434 Report of power lines down on Castle Drive followed by multiple reports of power outages in the village as well as parts of the town of Potsdam. Traffic lights impacted. Potsdam Fire and National Grid advised.

1556 Patrols dispatched to a report of a domestic incident on Main Street.

1654 Patrol completed a traffic stop on Lawrence Avenue. The operator was given a verbal warning.

1657 A record check was completed on an applicant for Potsdam Housing Authority.

1700 A record check was completed for a law enforcement agency inquiring about an individual applying for employment with their department.

1716 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

Patrol completed a traffic stop on Lawrence Avenue after observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Vehicle speed confirmed at 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. The operator, Richard C Phippen, age 62 of Winthrop, was issued a traffic summons for VTL 1180-D speed in zone returnable in Potsdam Village Court on 5/30/2012

1948 Patrols responded along with Potsdam Fire and Potsdam Rescue to a motor vehicle accident on Leroy Street.
