FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY - POTSDAM - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Sophie C. Goobic, 19, of 606 Old State Road, Canton, for following too closely at 4:21 p.m. Friday following a minor property damage accident on Route 11 near Glazier’s Packing in the town of Potsdam. Deputies said Goobic was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the back of a vehicle being operated by Edward R. Planty, 57, of 11 Jameson Road, Lot 2, Canton. Planty was in a line of traffic that was stopping for a school bus. Deputies said there were no injuries, but there was minor damage to Goobic’s vehicle.
