ASSAULT - POTSDAM - Village police charged Ryan C. Wentz, 22, of North Tonawanda with third-degree assaulr and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief at 5:52 a.m. Sunday on Bay Street. He was arraigned by Potsdam Village Justicr Nicholas Pignone and released on his own recognizance. The court signed a temporary order of protection.
Poloce said they responded to a report of an assault that had taken place at a residence on Bay Street. Patrols responded and upon arrival the victim had already been removed from the scene. After investigating the assault, Patrols returned to the Wentzs Bay Street residence and charged him with assault. Further investigation revealed that he had also damaged two doors in the apartment.

0008 Patrol assisted the sheriffs department with a prowler complaint on state Highway 345 until a deputy arrived on scene.
0011 Report of a loud party at a residence on Bay Street. Patrol responded and the party was moved inside for the remainder of the night.
1420 Numerous reports received of traffic lights malfunctioning on Market Street. Power outage was due to a transformer explosion on Lawrence Avenue at the substation.
2029 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to a call in Hannawa Falls.
2044 Assisted the state police with dispatching an injured deer on outer Main Street.
2312 Domestic dispute at a residence on Main Street.
