City police charged Jon A. Landaverde, 21, of 505 Washington St., Apt. 300, with performing a first-degree criminal sex act, second-degree harassment, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and obstruction of breathing following an incident at a residence on Washington Street.

According to police, he held a female victim down and forced her to perform oral sex. He also allegedly slapped her in the face, impeded breathing by applying pressure to her throat with his hands and pulled her into the residence when she attempted to seek assistance from a neighbor.

Arrested at 5:49 a.m. Sunday on the 800 block of Washington Street, he was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held pending arraignment in City Court.
