MASSENA - A portion of the village lost power after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The affected area included the village’s business district near Main Street and state Route 37. Massena Electric Department Deputy Superintendent Dale Raymo said approximately 2,300 customers were affected, including much of the village of Massena south of East Orvis Street. Crews restored power within 10 minutes, Mr. Raymo said. A malfunction at MED’s Grasse River substation caused the outage.
