Louisville- George W. Paige, 89, of State Highway 37, Louisville passed away on May 23, 2012 under the care of his family and Hospice. Born on May 1, 1923 in Massena the son of Isaac and Lena (LaPointe) Paige. He proudly served his country during World War II. Upon discharge he married Helen A. Smith on June 14, 1948 at St. Lawrence Church in Louisville. Mrs. Paige predeceased him on December 23, 2005. George was employed at Alcoa as a foreman for 41 years, and retired in 1983. He was a life member of VFW Post #1143, AmVets Post #4, life member of American Legion Post #79, Knights of Columbus in Louisville, Seaway Valley Senior Citizens, and a member of the Alcoa 25 year Club. George is survived by two sons, and two daughters, Dale and K C of Pahrump, NV: Larry and Denise of Lafayette, IN; Arlene and husband Richard Ducharme of East Taunton, MA, Donna and husband Thomas McCormack of Louisville; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters; Cecile Debien of Massena, Ruth Dobbins of Norfolk, Theresa Kirkey, of Norwood, a brother, Charles of Chateaugay, NY: he was predeceased by a son Jackie in 1997, a grandson Darryl in 1996, brothers, Durell “Bud”, Norville, Walter, Irving, and sisters; Gertrude Monroe, Maida Runion, and Ida Mae White. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Church in Louisville. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Louisville.
