A town of Champion woman reported Thursday night that she had been robbed after she gave $150 to a man for drugs and received nothing in return, according to Watertown police.
Paige E. Slezak, 19, of 34254 County Route 126, was arrested on a charge of third-degree falsely reporting an incident. She awaits arraignment in City Court.
A patrol was sent at 10:09 p.m. Thursday to the Rodeway Inn, 652 Arsenal St., to investigate a robbery complaint. Police said Ms. Slezak reported a man had stolen cash from her, but as interviews continued with her, she couldnt keep her facts straight. She finally admitted that she gave money to a man to buy drugs, but he never returned with the product, police said.
