Sarah J. Cota, A 2000 graduate of Lisbon Central School, has self-published her second novel, “Between Worlds,” this month through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and Smashwords.com.

The science fiction novel centers on spirits who take human form to protect the earth.

“I wanted to write something that was different,” Ms. Cota said. “I wanted to move away from the trend of vampires and werewolves. My story is about spirits, aliens and mythical land and the Bermuda Triangle.”

Published in 2008, her first book “The Malcomb Murders” is also now available on Amazon. The story surrounds a mother and her two daughters after they move into a haunted country house.
