A local Fort Drum advocate wants the connector road between Interstate 81 and Fort Drum to be named for Paul G. Cerjan, who helped design the 10th Mountain Divisions home.
Mr. Cerjan died in 2011.
Michael T. Plummer, a retired colonel and the former division chief of staff, is urging state Sen. Patricia A. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, to sponsor the legislation necessary to get the connector road named for Mr. Cerjan.
A staffer for Mrs. Ritchie said the senator and Mr. Plummer would discuss the matter Tuesday in Albany.
Mr. Cerjan, a lieutenant general, is credited with designing the $1.2 billion expansion of the base with growth in mind.
