ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - MASSENA - Three people were charged with endangering the welfare of a child following a family dispute on Roosevelt Street Sunday afternoon.

Village police charged Thomas J. Burnor, 29, and Jessica A. Burnor, 27, both of 41 Roosevelt St., and Carrie Burnor, 26, of 259 Center St., Apt. 2, Massena, with endangering the welfare of a child. Jessica Burnor was additionally charged with third-degree assault.

Carrie, in a statement she signed for police, said she had called her brother and asked him for $20 she said he owed her. She said he hung up on her so she called back the residence, shared her concerns about the money and was hung up on a second time.

She said she then drove to the 41 Roosevelt St. residence of her mother, steepfather, brother and his family and was greeted by her brother.

Donnie Perry, the siblings stepfather, said when he walked into the front room he saw T.J. holding onto his sister ‘s shoulders and pushing her into the wall. He said he briefly separated the siblinbs but then T.J. ‘s wife came up from the basement, forced Carrie through the back door and both women fell several steps down to the ground, where Carrie struck the back of her head on a cement patio block. She was treated at Massena Memorial Hospital for a laceration to the back of the head.

Jessica, in her statement to police, said she had suggested her sister-in-law should take some more suboxone when she was arguing with her mother on the phone.

“This all went down because of drugs,” the sibling’s mother, Cherrie Perry, told police.

ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - MASENA - Village police charged Sara L, Montoya, 41, of Hogansburg with endangering the welfare of a child at 7:44 p.m. Sunday on Sycamore Street. Montoya reportedly transported three youths in a van so they could initiate a fight with other youths on Sycamore Street.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - Village police charged Rodney D. Wood, 17, of 388 Grantville Road, Norfolk, with petit larceny following an incident at 8:20 p.m. Saturday on Center Street. John V. Woodard, 24, of 4 Ripley St., Massena, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on connection with that same incident. Wood allegedly stole a working cell phone from a table at a garage sale at 187 Center St. Saturday, and Woodard was found in possession of that phone later that evening.
