Weather threat wipes out entire Section 10 playoff schedule

The threat of severe weather completely wiped out the Section 10 playoff schedule for Tuesday.

All 10 games have been rescheduled to this afternoon. While the Class B baseball and softball semi-finals, the Class D baseball and softball semi-finals and the Girls Lacrosse Championship Game are slated to be played at the same sites and starting, the Class A baseball Championship between Massena and Franklin Academy has been moved from Clarkson’s Jack Phillips Stadium to Norwood-Norfolk Central’s Vern Burrow Field starting at 4:30 p.m.

Also moved to this afternoon were: the Class B baseball semis - Canton at OFA, Gouverneur at Potsdam; Class B softball semis - Gouverneur at OFA, Salmon River at Canton; the Class D baseball semis - Parishville-Hopkinton at Morristown, Heuvelton at Madrid-Waddington; the Class D softball semis - Parishville-Hopkinton at Colton-Pierrepont, Heuvelton at Chateaugay; the Girls Lacrosse Championship - Potsdam vs. Massena at SUNY Canton.

The baseball and softball matchups are slated to start at 4:30 p.m. and the girls lacrosse final at 5 p.m.

Already scheduled for today is a softball championship twinbill at SUNY Potsdam with Norwood-Norfolk and St. Lawrence Central squaring off in the Class C final at 3:30 p.m. and Massena taking on Franklin Academy in the Class A game at 5:30 p.m.
