MASSENA - In conjunction with the Massena Police Department, the Massena Masons will be holding a Safety Identification Event from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday during the Massena Heritage Festival at the Massena Arena.
Take advantage of the free service provided by the local Masons to help protect children and other family members.
The Safety ID Program is open to the public and offered free of charge to all families within the county. No appointment is necessary. Participants will receive a free packet of individual information to assist law enforcement in the safe recovery of a lost or missing child, student, or adult. All ages are welcome. Permission slips for minor children must be signed by a parent or guardian.
The identification process includes digital fingerprinting, photos, and a short questionnaire. Participants receive a mini CD-ROM containing photos and fingerprints, a laminated photo ID card, a printout, and safety tips and materials. All information is given to the parents; only consent forms are retained.
The Masons urge all families to keep this important, updateable information in a safe place, and to take it with you when traveling. This information can be helpful in the safe recovery of a lost or missing person.
If you received an ID at a previous Masonic event, now is a good time to update. As children grow, it is a good idea to get an update every year or two. Take your previous CD-ROM with you to this event, and all the information can be made current.
This program is sponsored by New York State Masons, and St. Lawrence Masonic Charities.
