What the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislators Did

May 21, 2012. Legislators Kevin D. Acres, D-Madrid, and Gregory M. Paquin, D-Massena, were absent.

Selected Redistricting Plan 1 and authorized the county attorney to draft a local law that is subject to permissive referendum for the redistricting of county legislative districts.

Requested the state to grant the county authority to increase its sales tax.

Rescinded certain changes made by resolution in conformity with a Public Employment Relations Board decision.

Authorized the chairwoman to sign a settlement agreement and amended contract with Camp Dresser & McKee.

Abolished the position of indigent defense coordinator and created a position of legal secretary to the county attorney.

Rejected supporting the Clifton-Fine Hospital corporate conversion.

Supported a veterans hospital and nursing home at Ogdensburg.

Supported drafting a statement of needs for a trails coordinator.
