SACKETS HARBOR — A series of birding walks is scheduled to take place in the village to coincide with the War of 1812 bicentennial.

The events are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, Aug. 25 and Sept. 8, starting in the picnic pavilion of the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site, Hill Street. Participants are advised to bring comfortable shoes for the approximately two-hour walk.
