FOWLER - An 18-year-old Fowler man is dead after being run over in his driveway by another teen leaving his residence Friday night.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a reported car-pedestrian accident at 10:47 p.m, Friday at 4127 state Highway 58 in the town of Fowler.

Deputies said TylerW. Sargent, 18,of 1235 Route 11, Gouverneur, was attempting to leave the residence and didn’t see James W. Gore 18, of 4127 state Route 58 lay down on the ground in front of the vehicle.

Sargent drove over Gore, and Gore became trapped under the vehicle.

Deputies said St. Lawrence County Coroner June Wood responded to the accident scene.

They also said alcohol is not believed to be involved in the accident, and the investigation is continuing.

The sheriffs department was assisted on scene by New York State Police, and Gouverneur fire and rescue.
