CICERO Section 3 champion Homer outscored Salmon River 6-2 in the second half to hand the Shamrocks their first loss of the season, 12-8, in a state Class C boys lacrosse quarterfinal Saturday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
Beau Riley led the Trojans (18-3) with six goals and three assists. Aaron Zimmerman scored three goals and contributed one assist, and Conner Johnston added two goals and an assist for Homer, which advances to the state semifinals against Penn Yan next week.
Seth Oakes led the Section 10 champion Shamrocks (19-1) with four goals, Ky Tarbell scored two goals and assisted on three, and Kason Tarbell and Kamm David also scored.
