HERKIMER - Former Salmon River Central standout Krista Oakes relayed an outstanding season as the main starting pitcher for the Herkimer County Community College into the schools Female Athlete of the Year Award.
The sophomore from Hogansburg posted an impressive 15-2 record this spring in helping the Generals to a 38-6 record that included a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA Division III National Championship in Rochester, Minnesota, last month.
