OGDENSBURG Fire hydrant flushing will resume in the city of Ogdensburg this week.
The 6 to 9 p.m. flushing will start Monday and end on Friday. Residents are asked to draw essential water before then and not do laundry or bathe during the time their neighborhood is affected.
Most people are going to notice that their water is discolored, said Assistant Fire Chief Ronald D. Bouchard. It will last about an hour.
The flushing schedule for the week is as follows:
■ Monday: Caroline Street at Jay Street, south to West South Street and including all areas west of the Oswegatchie River. Businesses include Little Italy and Little Caesars restaurants on State Street.
■ Tuesday: West South Street at State Street, south to Fine Street and including all areas west to the Oswegatchie River. Also included are all areas beginning at Riverside Avenue and Franklin south to Ford Street, then east to Denny Street on Ford Street and then north to the St. Lawrence River on Denny Street; Washington Street from Denny Street to North Rosseel Street is also included. Businesses include Fisher Chips and Stewarts, both on Ford Street.
■ Wednesday: Franklin and Greene streets and continuing east on Green Street to Irvin Street; also beginning at Ford and Denny streets continuing east on Ford Street to Linden Street. Businesses include The Place, Chicks Pizzeria, Phoenix on the Bay and Nadines, all on Ford Street.
■ Thursday: Franklin and Knox streets and continuing east on Knox Street to Irvin Street; also at Franklin and Jay streets and continuing east on Jay Street to Irvin Street. Businesses include the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club on Paterson Street.
■ Friday: Lafayette and Franklin streets, continuing east on Lafayette Street to Picquet Drive; also Montgomery and Franklin streets, east on Montgomery Street to Picquet Drive, including Belmont Courts, Plover Hill Avenue and the Beaver Brook development. Businesses include the Knights of Columbus on Hasbrouck Street.
