POTSDAM — Julian’s restaurant, 38 Market St., closed its doors for good after more than two years in business.

The restaurant opened on New Year’s Eve 2009.

It was owned by Jody C. and Heather L. Wenzel, owners of McDuff’s Tavern at 59 Market St.

The decision to shutter Julian’s was made because of time restraints, Mr. Wenzel said. Mrs. Wenzel took a job working for the county’s Department of Social Services, and the couple was unable to maintain both establishments while working full-time jobs.

“Something had to give somewhere,” Mr. Wenzel said.

The couple decided to close Julian’s in May while continuing to run the more profitable McDuff’s.
