CANTON — An outage in the town of Canton left 842 people without power Monday, according to National Grid’s website. The outage extended on Route 310 toward Madrid.

According to a statement from the St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services, the 4 p.m. outage was caused by a circuit breaker failure at a substation south of St. Lawrence University.
