MASSENA - Paula Henry’s fourth-grade class at Jefferson Elementary recently invited their parents to a special event.

Each student in the class wrote and illustrated a children’s story, C.S.T, Cool Story Telling by Little Authors. They used the writing process to develop their stories. The students, then, presented their published story to their parents.

“I felt happy and excited that my grandma was able to make it. I also felt unique because I wrote a descriptive poem and everyone else wrote a children’s story,” Ieronhenehtha Point said. “The season of spring and how the grass changes, along with the buds on the trees, was the inspiration of my descriptive poem.”

“All of the stories were entertaining and taught a valuable life lesson. I was so proud of them and you could see just how proud their parents were as well,” Mrs. Henry said.

A guest author, Holden Hewlett, was also invited into the classroom to share his story, The Day the Principal was Sick. Holden is a second grader in Dee Cook’s class. He wrote his own children’s book. He was inspired by an author who came to Jefferson school to write a book.
