NORFOLK - The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently chose the Student of the Month for the month of April.

The students are chosen for their academic achievements, as well as their integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Courtney Currier is the Freshmen Student of the Month. Courtney is the daughter of Gerald Currier of Norwood. Courtney enjoys hanging out with friends. She participates in softball and soccer. Courtney plans to go to college. Her goal is to do well in school and pass all her classes.

Heidi Simons is the Sophomore Student of the Month. Heidi is the daughter of Kathryn O’Neil and Louis Simons of Norfolk. Heidi likes hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, and listening to music. Heidi participates in soccer and Varsity Club. Heidi plans to graduate and go to college to become a forensic science technician.

Ashley Woodward is the Junior Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Vicki and Craig Woodward of Norwood. Ashley likes hanging out with friends and working at the beach. Ashley participates in Key Club, where she serves as secretary, runs track, and is a member of Jazz Band.

Josh Eng is the Senior Student of the Month. He is the son of Theresa Eng. Josh likes rock climbing, duathlons/triathlons, and basketball. Josh participates in cross country, basketball, spring track, Varsity Club, and National Honor Society. Josh plans to attend St. Lawrence University in the fall of 2012 and become a full time life guard during the summer at Norwood Beach.

Each student that was chosen received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated are Hotel Grande, Al Smith’s, Hometown Café and Lobster House.
