CANTON — Ousted St. Lawrence County Emergency Services Director Martin J. Hassett filed a notice of claim April 16 against the county, according to the county’s attorney.

The notice came days after the Board of Legislators would not let Mr. Hassett rescind his resignation.

A formal lawsuit has yet to be filed.

In May, legislators appointed Joseph Gilbert, Ogdensburg, to serve in Mr. Hassett’s place.
