The New York State Independence Party has endorsed Senator Patty Ritchie for a second term as State Senator representing the 48th Senate District.

“Senator Patty Ritchie has proven herself to be an independent voice that the people of our state can count on,” said NYS Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay.

“She has reached across the political aisle and fought for the changes our state needs—like lower taxes and job creation. It is my honor as Chairman of the Independence Party to endorse Senator Ritchie for her second term.”

Sen. Ritchie has made it a priority to help change what was widely known as a dysfunctional state government in Albany.

“I’m thrilled to have the support of the Independence Party, and would like to thank Chairman MacKay and the members of the Independence Party for their confidence in me to continue the work that the Governor and I have started,” said Senator Ritchie.

“Since taking office, I have made it a priority to work together to make the necessary changes to help get New York back on the right track,” said Sen. Ritchie.

Sen. Ritchie has stayed true to her campaign promises of cutting taxes, lowering spending and helping to create jobs.

Over the past two years, she voted to enact two, back-to-back, on-time budgets that cut spending and lowered taxes—for the first time in our state’s history. In her role as Senate Agriculture Chair, Sen. Ritchie has stood up for farmers to prevent new taxes and stop additional budget cuts that would have harmed the industry.

The 48th Senate District includes Oswego and Jefferson Counties, and the St. Lawrence County Towns of Canton, De Kalb, DePeyster, Edwards, Fowler, Gouverneur, Hammond, Hermon, Lisbon, Louisville, Macomb, Madrid, Morristown, Oswegatchie, Rossie, Waddington and the City of Ogdensburg.

Senator Ritchie has also been endorsed by the Republican committees in Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, and the St. Lawrence County Conservative Party.
