DeFelskos, Moose, Ogdensburg Pepsi Cola and Carisle, Carrothers & Clough posted wins In Kiwanis Baseball-Softball recently.
JUNIOR GRASSHOPPER
DeFelsko 11 Phillips 5: In a well-played game, Conner Griffith, MeSean Johnson and Todd Carroll combined to pitch the win striking out 10. Johnson led the winning offense with a long grandslam homerun and a single with Griffith adding a double and single. Brogan LaRose and Owen Warchol each had two singles and Jordan Fennessy laced a double. Kelson Hooper added a single and engineered a diving catch behind the plate.
For Phillips Diner, Jackson Jones, Justin Brabant and Caleb Spears combined to strike out 10 on the mound. Jones slammed a double and two singles, Harry Powers poled two doubles, while Spears chipped in a double and Mark Barr added a single.
SENIOR GRASSHOPPER
Moose Lodge 8, Howland Pum 4: Jarred Barr fanned nine batters and connected for a homerun and a double to enjoy the win with fellow pitchers Brody Woods (2 innings), and Garrett Piercy (1 inning) for the Moose Lodge. Piercey belted three triples while Brody Woods, Kyle Flynn, Mecci Johnson, and Mason Stone each singled.
Hayden Ives (3 innings) and Jackson Troiano (7 strikeouts) pitched for Howland Pump. Gage Rand stroked two singles while Hayden Ives and Chris Garcia each singled once.
Pepsi 8, Howland Pump 5: Ethan Baldwin (7 strikeouts), Grant LeBeau (2 innings), and Justin McCormic (1 inning) tossed the win. Mitchell Brenno lined a double and a single while Justin McCormick rapped four singles. Ethan Baldwin helped his cause with a pair of singles and Cale Sargent added a double.
Hayden Ives (7 strikeouts) and Jackson Troiano (7 strikeouts) pitched for Howland Pump. Jackson Troiano posted two doubles, Jake Sharpe lined a double and a single and and Gage Rand added two singles for HP.
SOFTBALL
Carisle, Carrothers & Clough 8, Lady Moose 4: Claire Donaldson (eight strikeouts, single) and Sierra Ashley (seven strikeouts, double) lifted CCC past Lady Moose. Rhiley Burwell added a double and two singles while Hannah Beebie and Rhianna Reynolds each singled twice.
Marissa Bigelow, Deanna Teele, and Abby Wilhelm all singled and Reynolds played solid defense at thirdbase
The entire Moose team played hard and Chelsea Raven supplied a strong pitching effort.
