Drunk driver rams through Old Dekalb house

DWI - OLD DEKALB - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged an Ogdensburg man with driving with intoxicated late Friday night after he drove through a home at 2649 state Route 812 in Old Dekalb.

Deputies said Bryan J. Moore, 38, of Canada Circle, Ogdensburg, was travelling on County Route 17 at 11:45 p.m. Friday when he failed stop at the stop sign, crossed state Route 812 and drove through the house located near the intersection.

Police said Moore’s vehicle slammed into the front of the house, drove through the living room and went partially through the back wall of the two-story residence before coming to rest.

The downstair’s tenant, a pregnant 29 year old, and her four-year-old daughter were sleeping in a bedroom just off the living room, according to deputies. Neither were injured. The upstair’s tenant was not home at the time of the crash.

Moore reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.11 percent. A BAC of 0.08 or higher constitutes a driving while intoxicated charge.

Deputies said the vehicle and house suffered major damage.
